The sinkhole that began in Texas on May 9, 2008, has now swallowed the entire United States minus Alaska and Hawaii. Tom Branch, coordinator of the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management was quoted on May 9th saying, "We're just going to shut the road down and see how big it gets. Hopefully it will stop."
